Julian Green scored a first-half hat-trick in front of his home crowd as Bayern Munich demolished Inter Milan 4-1 in their International Champions Cup clash in North Carolina.
The American winger, who has had little involvement with the Bayern first team and was demoted to Hamburg's reserve side during a loan spell last season, is a six-cap USA international and gave his home fans plenty to cheer about at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte.
Franck Ribery also found the net for Bayern, before Mauro Icardi slotted a consolation in the 90th minute, but it was Green who garnered most of the attention as he got his side off and running with a glanced near-post finish after just seven minutes.

Ribery added the second with a neat-finish from the edge of the six-yard box 13 minutes in, before the Frenchman turned provider as Green lashed home his through ball on the half-hour mark.
The American completed his treble as he finished off a slick move down the Bayern right, although there was a hint of offside, as Roberto Mancini's shell-shocked Inter struggled for any kind of foothold in the game.
Fortunately for Mancini and his Nerazzuri side, the fire which fueled Bayern's first-half display went out as the usual raft of substitutions was made at the break and into the second half, but Inter still struggled to test Tom Starke in the Munich goal.

Even the introduction of striker Icardi, linked with Tottenham earlier in the summer, initially couldn't help Inter create any meaningful chances, as his header sailed harmlessly wide with a little over 15 minutes to go.
Young forward Mario Crnicki fired a shot tamely wide as Bayern continued to take their foot off the gas, although Green was full of running as he looked for a fourth goal in his homeland.
Xabi Alonso drove a volley wide after Andrea Rannochia could only partially clear Green's cross, while David Alaba fired over as the game looked to be drifting to a conclusion.
But when Alaba gave the ball away in his own half, Icardi strolled through and slotted the ball past Starke to earn a consolation for his side.
While many of Bayern's international stars are still on their post-Euro 2016 holidays, Ancelotti's army of young players gave the Italian plenty to be encouraged by as they outclassed a more experienced Inter squad throughout.
Bayern play Real Madrid in New Jersey on Thursday in the final game of their US tour, while Inter travel to Norway to take on Celtic on Friday.
