United show off new shirts with classic white v-neck style
Kit launch is the first with Adidas after 13 seasons with Nike

Manchester United have unveiled their new Adidas home kit and it is reminiscent of their shirts of the 1980s and 90s.

It is the first strip made by the German sportswear manufacturer since they signed a 10-year, £750m partnership with the Premier League club. Before that United had been with Nike for 13 seasons.
The shirt will cost £60 from the club’s official online megastore, with a kids’ shirt priced at £50. A baby kit will cost £35.

The Adidas designer Inigo Turner said in a statement on the club website: “We have aimed to break expectations by re-engineering simple but impactful design features such as the classic v-neck collar and the iconic three-stripe detailing down the arms as our commitment to giving Manchester United a truly ground-breaking kit for the 2015-16 season.”
There is also a graphic design on the hem of the shirt taken from the 1990 shirt famously worn by Ryan Giggs in his debut season. The kit, under the motto “Breaking Expectations”, went on sale at selected locations in Manchester and London at midnight and was launched by Daley Blind and Phil Jones.

Theo Walcott and Santi Cazorla sign new contracts with Arsenal

Walcott’s £140,000 a week puts him in same pay bracket as Özil and Sánchez
Walcott given four-year contract; Cazorla agrees two-year extension

Theo Walcott and Santi Cazorla have signed new contracts at Arsenal. Walcott put pen to paper on Thursday on a four-year deal which is worth £140,000 a week and replaces his old £100,000-a-week terms, which were set to expire next summer.
Cazorla had earlier agreed his extension, which runs for two years to the summer of 2017, but the club waited until Walcott had signed so they could make a double announcement on Friday, before Sunday’s Community Shield against Chelsea at Wembley.
Walcott is the club’s longest-serving player, having arrived from Southampton in January 2006 and he has now become one of the top earners. The 26-year-old’s latest contract puts him in the same pay bracket as his fellow Arsenal players Mesut Özil and Alexis Sánchez.
Cazorla, 30, is another crowd favourite and he excelled last season when he was switched into a deeper-lying midfield position. He joined from Málaga in the summer of 2012.
Arsène Wenger said: “We’re delighted to have extended the contracts of Santi and Theo. Both are top quality players who are hugely important and influential to our squad.
“As well as their huge contributions on the pitch, they both have a great deal of experience and are very popular off the pitch. We’re very pleased with them both signing contract extensions, as it provides our squad with further stability of quality.”
